-To quit the program at any time and return to the Windows(R) desktop, press the ESC key.

* NOTE: A special Cuddle 'n Care Password is included in the packaging for your baby. This password identifies the hair, eye, and skin color of your baby for the program. If you are unable to locate the password you can use the password matrix that follows the Troubleshooting Tips section.

A) MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

B) ELECTRONICALLY REGISTERING YOUR SOFTWARE

When you first install the software you will be invited to complete an electronic registration form. You may choose either to continue with the registration or to cancel the registration and complete it at another time. If you complete the registration, you will be prompted to send it electronically if you have a modem. If you do not have a modem, you can print out the form and fax or mail the registration to the address at the top of the form. If you choose to complete the registration at a later point in time, you can find the electronic registration form in the Mattel Interactive/Cuddle 'n Care (tm) program group.
The electronic registration is to be completed only by users 15 years old or older, or by an adult registering for a child. See instructions and confidentiality information contained within the electronic registration screens.
C) INSTALL/UNINSTALL TIPS

WINDOWS(R) 95 AND WINDOWS(R) 98 - INSTALLING
1. Insert the Cuddle 'n Care(TM) CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. For systems with AutoPlay, skip to step 4. For all other systems, from the START MENU, choose RUN.
3. Type d:\setup in the Command Line box, then click OK. (If your CD drive is not 'd', substitute the correct drive letter.)
4. You will be asked if you want to install. Select NEXT and follow the on-screen prompts.
WINDOWS(R) 95 AND WINDOWS(R) 98 - UNINSTALLING
1. From the START menu, click on Programs\Mattel Interactive\Cuddle 'n Care(TM)\Uninstall Cuddle 'n Care(tm)
2. You can also uninstall Cuddle 'n Care(TM) through the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS feature. To do this, you click START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL and then double click on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon. From the Install/Uninstall tab, scroll down until you find the Cuddle 'n Care(TM) directory. Highlight the directory and click ADD/REMOVE.
D) GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

This section discusses performance issues you might encounter as you play Cuddle 'n Care(TM).
Computer Related Issues
* On minimally configured computers you may notice over time that synching problems between the video and audio occur. While this does not affect the creativity functionality it may affect your enjoyment of the program. Simply quit the game, after saving any of your creations, and re-launch the program.
A) Screensavers:
1. To avoid any possible conflicts, it is recommended that you turn off all screensavers before running Cuddle 'n Care(TM).
B) Third Party Shells:
1. To avoid any possible conflicts, we recommend that you run this program under the Windows(R) Program Manager shell or Windows(R) Explorer.
C) Sound:
1. Make sure that your computer speakers are turned ON and the volume is adjusted properly.
2. Make sure that you do not have the SOUND muted. Double-click on the small speaker icon in the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen to check.
D) If Display or Graphics Problems Occur:
If you experience display or graphics problems while running Cuddle 'n Care(TM):
1. We recommend that you set your display setting to 640x480 and High Color (16-bit). See your Windows(R) documentation if you do not know how to adjust your video display.
2. Contact your video card or system vendor to obtain the latest version of your video driver. Note: You may be able to download this information from the Internet.
If you encounter any of these problems, please contact your video card manufacturer. If the manufacturer is unable to help you, please call our Customer Support.
3. Make sure no other applications are running while Cuddle 'n Care(TM) is running.
Doll Related Issues
If Your Cuddle 'n Care(tm) Baby is not reacting to the sound tones from the computer:
1. Make sure your baby is ON and operating correcting away from the computer. If she does not respond to patting her back or tickling her tummy, she may need fresh batteries. See the Cuddle 'n Care(tm) Instruction Sheet included with your baby.
2. Be sure your baby is faced is within 3-4 feet and general direction of the computer speaker.
3. Be sure nothing is covering the flower-shaped microphone on your baby's headband.
4. Turn up the volume on the computer speaker.
5. The Cuddle 'n Care Baby will automatically turn off after several minutes of inactivity. If you leave the computer for any length of time you may need to reactive the baby by picking her up and tipping her forward slightly and then seating her again.
